Tourism is the picturesque town surrounded by towering green mountains outskirted ruined by clouds, ice and rock summits. There was, in fact, apple orchards and an atmosphere reminiscent of Colorado, but betweenthe large, modern hotels and small guest houses catering dirty old stoned for skiers in winter and post-army Israelis from the rest of the year that just was not our scene. But it was quite a scene. Every business with identical baggy "haram" UVM-style trousers and patchwork pants and ponchos ... Billiard tables and film rooms set up under leaky tarpaulins ... allegedly sushi houses in the more traditional tourist fare ... and growning marijuana plants as weeds higher than my waist. As soon as we couldget it organized and we left with Adi Nir on a 4-day hike through the surrounding mountains, trekking Indian style. By this I mean that if you have a leader (the incumbent reagion by several mysterious disappearance of hikers in the drug trade you have,) you need the whole package, which includes an entourage of cooking, guide, ponies, to get tents, food and rider. There is no reference to weight of the goods nor biodigradability the materials used. Trash is burned or piled in a ditch...
